On November 15th, there will be a wonderful celebration of the excellence of the eleven Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) in North Carolina. The HBCU “Living Legends” Scholarship Gala will be held at 7 p.m. the Embassy Suites in Winston-Salem, NC.  The community is invited to this event.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. H. James Williams, President of Fisk University. Dr. Williams is a native of Winston-Salem and a graduate of North Carolina Central University.. In addition to Dr. Williams, other honorees will include achievers in business, industry, athletics, education, medicine, community service as well as state and federal elected representatives who are alumni from each of the eleven NC Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).

Proceeds from the gala will fund a student scholarship at each of the eleven schools. Additionally, the 2015 HBCU “Living Legends” Calendar in which the honorees are commemorated will premier. Sales of the calendar also help fund the student scholarships
